Jason S. Weiss

Jason S. Weiss, Esq. concentrates his area of practice in commercial litigation and sports and entertainment law.

Mr. Weiss has extensive sports and entertainment law experience, including negotiating and drafting recorded music and video deals, distribution agreements, publishing agreements, production agreements, employment contracts and endorsement deals for athletes, entertainers, musicians and agents.  He represents professional football players, personal management companies, rappers, bands, radio personalities, mixed martial arts fighters, chefs, agents, professional baseball and soccer players, boxers, actors, writers and models.  Jason has also structured agreements for restaurant consulting companies, chefs, culinary television shows, restaurants and reality television shows.  He serves as a legal advisor to professional athletes, performers and entertainers in all aspects of their professional and personal activities.   

In addition to his representation of entertainment and sports clients, Jason is a litigator who handles all aspects of business and commercial litigation.  He has dealt with breach of contract claims, tortious interference with business relationships, title issues, property disputes, non-compete clauses, commercial landlord tenant matters, trade secrets, RICO claims, fraud, real estate litigation, foreclosures and other various business related lawsuits.  He is admitted to practice law in the State of Florida, Washington, D.C. and the United States District Court for the Southern and Middle Districts of Florida.     

Jason has lectured about: sports law at the seminar “From Signing Day to Parting Ways: An Inside Look at The Life of a Professional Athlete”; ethics, mixed martial arts and the growth of the Florida sports market at the 1st Annual Nova Southeastern University Sports Law Symposium; protecting clients in dealing with the media at the 10th Anniversary Annual Legal Symposium of Music, Film and Television; and music deals and artists’ rights at a seminar presented by Bahamas Music Publishing, LLC.  He is also a former Judge for the Broward County Teen Court Program and is the Treasurer of the Entertainment, Arts and Sports Law Section of the Florida Bar.

While at the University of Miami School of Law, Mr. Weiss served as the Executive Editor of the International and Comparative Law Review.  In addition, he authored “The Changing Face of Baseball: In an Age of Globalization, is Baseball Still as American as Apple Pie and Chevrolet?” 8 U. Miami Int’l & Comp.L.Rev. (1999).
