Marci has been a resident of South Florida since childhood. She received her Bachelor of Arts degree in English from Florida International University in 1990. Marci attended Nova Southeastern University Law Center and received her Juris Doctorate degree in 1993.
Marci was admitted to the Florida Bar in 1993. She is currently a member of the American Bar Association, the Broward County Bar Association and the Florida Association of Women Lawyers. Marci is a Director of the Commercial Real Estate Women Fort Lauderdale / Palm Beach Chapter and serves as the group’s legal counsel.
Before joining the firm, Marci served as the former General Counsel to a publicly held employee benefit administration and marketing company. Her professional experience is diverse and includes corporate entity formation and governance, negotiating and drafting leases, non-compete agreements, licensing agreements, vendor agreements, marketing agreements, real estate purchase and sale agreements (commercial and residential), easements, title review and issuance, title resolution, insurance regulations and compliance, loan transactions, reviewing and drafting association documents, and community association representation.
Marci has published numerous articles in various business publications and newspapers on a variety of legal topics, including: “Alternative Dispute Resolution – When and Why to Use It”, “Age Discrimination – What Every Employer Should Know”, “What’s in a Name? Protecting Intellectual Property Rights”, “Avoiding Pre-Employment Land Mines and Pitfalls”, “Drafting is Crucial – Employment Contracts”, “Cost Conscious Legal Help for your Business”, “Legal Pitfalls in Marketing Your Business”, and “Legal Care for the Small Business.” Marci also assisted in writing the article “Expert Witness Malpractice: A Solution to the Problem of the Negligent Expert Witness” published in the Mississippi College Law Review. Marci served as a panel speaker for a seminar conducted by CREW regarding 1031 property exchanges in May, 2008.
