Known for his sound judgment and keen insights in business, government, tax, real estate and land use matters, Wilson C. Atkinson, III brings more than 40 years of legal experience to every client engagement. One recent example: Atkinson successfully represented singer Jimmy Buffet in winning approval from the City of Hollywood for a $100 million Margaritaville Resort on the beach.
A Broward County resident since his early childhood, Atkinson founded Atkinson, Diner, Stone, Mankuta & Ploucha, P.A., in 1966 and plays a leading role in the firm’s major practice areas, including litigation. He has extensive knowledge in business matters as well as state and local governmental activities, particularly with land use and zoning.
Atkinson received his bachelor of science degree in business administration from the University of Florida in 1963. He majored in accounting and insurance, and distinguished himself as a Delta Theta Phi and Florida Blue Key member. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Florida School of Law in 1966. Atkinson is admitted to practice in Florida Courts, United States Tax Court and the United States Court of Appeals in the Fifth and Eleventh Circuits.
